Gather everything needed to bring to the scheduled appointment.
During the interview, we will ask you questions and look over information related to the past tax year. This will help us determine if you are eligible for any credits, work-related expenses and other deductions that may contribute to a fuller refund from the Internal Revenue Service.
After the interview, you will receive a service quote to prepare your tax return as well as a rough estimate of the amount you will owe or be refunded from the IRS.
Once analyzing and preparing your data is complete, we will call you to come in for a review.
During the review, we show you the breakdown of your entire federal and state tax return by mentioning the procedure, notable parts in the return, and any written notes to the IRS that clarify a circumstance.
After, we will then have you sign your federal and state tax return and give you the breakdown for the cost of our service. If you are unfamiliar with how to mail tax returns to the IRS, we are happy to guide you through the mailing process.
While preparation fees will vary based on the complexity of the tax return, we strive to keep service costs at a competitive rate.
For a simple return involving only 1040 and 540 forms, we charge $75 for the state tax return and $75 for the federal tax return.
By analyzing financial documents and getting to know more about your past filing year, we can determine what credits and deductions can be applied to your annual income tax return to contribute towards a fuller refund. In the rare event of the IRS conducting an audit were to occur, rest assured that DLM Tax professionals have many years of experience handling audits.
